What exactly are Electronic Cigarette? They are nothing but artificial cigarettes, launched in 2003, that replicate everything that a real cigarette does without the smoke or any health hazards. Instead of smoke, e-cigarettes produce vapor which feels exactly the same as smoke from a real cigarette. It doesn’t cost a lot. It is allowed at all those places that have a ban on smoking.
As you can see, e-cigarettes do score a lot of points in several key areas. They are a recent “invention”, if you can say so. Thus, there hasn’t been a lot of scrutiny from the government’s side. Companies that manufacture these have been allowed a little bit of a free run in the past.
However, recently, several cities have banned, or restricted, the usage of these electronic cigarettes. We can take Boston as an example. Very recently, Boston banned the sale of electronic cigarettes to those below 18. They also placed some restrictions on their workplace usage.
To go with the good side of these cigarettes, there are some minor drawbacks and some potentially horrible results. With devices such as these, there is always a chance of them being misused. These are harmful in the hands of minors, as it is rather easy to replace the liquid nicotine with some drug. It isn’t something that happens though, to be honest.
I have been slightly negative in my stance of electronic cigarettes which, to an extent, may not have helped you as much as you want. If you want to really stop smoking, the option I’d recommend would be to just stop it completely. Going for professional counseling might be a good option too.
Some countries have a ban on these (Canada is one of them). The Food & Drug Administration also doesn’t approve of these products. You should check the legal status in your locality and accordingly make the decision. I would go into as much details as possible. Weigh in opinions from those who have used them before and see whether you want to go with it or not.
Anything that has the potential to ruin your health in the long run must be given a lot of thought. Make the decision with facts.
